Description and Requirements
The Senior Manager of Performance Improvement provides strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of high-impact initiatives, partnering with senior business leaders to deliver measurable outcomes aligned with organizational priorities and strategic objectives. This role drives the design, execution, and sustainment of continuous improvement strategies that enhance customer experience, optimize clinical and operational performance, and strengthen overall value delivery. As a key leader within the Performance Improvement Department, the Senior Manager shapes long-term direction, builds organizational capability, and ensures initiatives translate into sustained, quantifiable results across customer-facing and clinical operations.
This position requires three days per week in office (Tues/Wed/Thurs) at either: 100 Church Street, NYC or 1101 Greenwood, Lake Mary, FL.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify, prioritize, and sponsor high-impact performance improvement initiatives
- Develop business cases including financial modeling, ROI analysis, and value realization plans
- Lead cross-functional teams through end-to-end improvement initiatives, applying structured methodologies and driving creative solutions through workflow optimization, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities to deliver sustainable, measurable outcomes
- Drive change management efforts to ensure successful adoption, stakeholder engagement, and long-term sustainability of process improvements
- Build organizational capability by coaching, mentoring, and training teams in performance improvement tools, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement principles
- Partner with executive sponsors and operational leaders to align initiatives with enterprise strategy, regulatory requirements, and organizational priorities
- Monitor assigned initiatives, acting with urgency to address risks, drive change, and ensure timely achievement of measurable outcomes
- Demonstrate agility in navigating evolving priorities, with the ability to adapt quickly.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience
- HS Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Experience leading complex process improvement initiatives
- Experience managing staff and cross-functional teams
- Experience working with data sets and/or Microsoft Excel modeling
- Experience utilizing valuation and impact analysis methodologies
- Experience using workflow diagramming applications to document business processes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution
- Experience designing and implementing generative AI solutions, including prompt engineering, structured AI workflow architecture, customization of GPT-based tools, and integration of enterprise AI capabilities into operational business processes
- Knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) and Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations
- Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), or equivalent certification in process improvement and quality methodologies.
- Industry work experience in healthcare such as managed or long-term care, insurance, government or other healthcare agency
- Experience working with one or more Medicaid managed care plan products

Hiring Range*:
Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $122,900 - $188,020
All Other Locations (within approved locations): $105,100 - $160,480
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
