Description and Requirements

The Senior Data Analyst, Medical Economics, collaborates with business partners to understand and address business problems through data-driven solutions. This role requires a self-directed individual with high personal standards of work, capable of identifying opportunities to increase efficiency across the organization. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in healthcare data analysis and is comfortable using data visualization tools and techniques. Additionally, experience in delivering high-impact presentations to key stakeholders is essential. Ultimately, the role of the Sr. Data Analyst is to generate actionable insights that help leadership make informed, data-driven decisions.

Hybrid work schedule consists of reporting to our 100 Church Street, NYC office 3 days per week.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Leverage leading analytical tools to generate insights that facilitate key decisions by department leadership.

  • Create accurate reports or insightful and user-friendly dashboards that meet stakeholders’ needs and lead to business insights.

  • Set delivery expectations accurately and communicate the status of high-priority items relentlessly.

  • Identify and monitor cost and utilization trends and the root causes in health plan trend performance, providing recommendations for solutions.

  • Create and present reports to all levels of management.

  • Utilize statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets.

  • Collaborate with various teams and departments to implement new data analysis methodologies.

  • Identify opportunities for improving business processes through data analysis.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand business goals and identify analytics requirements.

  • Present and communicate complex data findings in a clear and concise manner to non-technical team members and senior leadership.

  • Deliver high-impact presentations to leadership, showcasing data-driven insights and recommendations.

  • Use advanced analytical tools and software for data analysis and modeling

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent

  • 2+ years' experience in data analytics or consulting, preferably in the healthcare industry

  • Proven work experience with SQL where you have created queries, pulled large data sets and performed data manipulations/analysis

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R

  • Experience with data visualization and reporting techniques using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Familiarity with cloud technologies

  • Knowledge of statistical methodologies and tools, including experimentation design

  • Demonstrated success analyzing large datasets

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Continuous learning mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in mathematics, computer science, data science, engineering, business analytics, or similar field

  • 3+ years' proven work experience with SQL

  • One or more years of working experience with Python

  • Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, specifically Redshift

  • Experience with Git/versioning control for managing code changes and collaboration

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate and influence across functions

  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical, independent decisions within area of responsibility

  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize work and complete assignments within their allotted deadline

  • Knowledge of health care industry, products, systems, business strategies and products

Hiring Range*:

  • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $106,300 - $153,595

  • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $97,000 - $144,330

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
