Description and Requirements
Hybrid Work Schedule:
This position consists of reporting to our 100 Church Street (NYC) office 3 days per week.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Providing support to in-house legal counsel or the organization's attorney to address legal issues.
Reviewing and logging Fair Hearing notices; compiles and coordinates assembly of documentation supporting actions taken by the Plan.
Assisting in handling, preparing, coordinating, and attending scheduled Fair Hearings on behalf of the Plan.
Working with internal departments to coordinate and improve workflows related to the fair hearings and plan denials.
Preparing legal documents such as settlement agreements, contracts, evidence packets.
Reporting directly to in-house legal counsel or attorney.
Reviewing legal notices and directing to appropriate attorney or business unit for review and/or action.
Reviewing documentation and formulates argument supporting Plan action.
Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree from an accredited institution or high school diploma/GED plus relevant experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel and SharePoint.
Related experience as a paralegal in a law firm and/or corporate legal department or managed care organization.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of the Medicaid/Medicare programs and the Fair Hearing process.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Hiring Range*:
Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $67,205 - $95,680
All Other Locations (within approved locations): $59,800 - $87,360
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
