Description and Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop an understanding of Healthfirst’s unique business model, with a focus on financial data and trends related to Medicaid and LTC products
- Attend meetings with cross-functional teams to learn how the Finance department supports operational decision-making
- Assist in analyzing financial data related to the Medicaid and LTC products and gain experience in interpreting membership, cost, and revenue trends to identify improvement opportunities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate students must be a junior or senior at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program. Graduate students must be enrolled at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program.
- Will not require sponsorship for employment
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA from an accredited school
Preferred Qualifications:
- Students currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program, or an accredited Master’s in Healthcare Administration, Math, Business, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related programs
- Proficiency in SQL
- Work experience with Microsoft Excel - pivot tables, formatting, sorting, formulas such as VLOOKUP
- Self-motivated, creative problem solver who can work independently and collaborate through strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing projects
- Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare programs
- Knowledge of healthcare data (claims, diagnosis and procedure codes, etc.)
Hiring Range*:
Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $39,208 - $52,000
All Other Locations (within approved locations): $34,091 - $49,920
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
