Description and Requirements
This role establishes the methodologies, standards, and governance required to decompose business capabilities into reusable process components that can be executed by human workers, AI agents, digital workers, or hybrid human-agent teams. The role advances process architecture practices for the age of AI, including agentic operating models, process decomposition frameworks, decision architecture, human-in-the-loop design, and enterprise workflow orchestration.
The Lead Enterprise Process Architect partners with enterprise delivery programs to ensure processes are designed for scalability, composability, observability, compliance, continuous optimization, and safe AI-enabled execution. This role drives intentional enterprise process architecture standards and helps ensure AI-enabled workflows align with governance requirements, business outcomes, customer experience objectives, and enterprise operating model strategies.
This position requires three days per week in office (Tues/Wed/Thurs) at 100 Church Street, NYC or 1101 Greenwood BLVD, Lake Mary, FL
Duties & Responsibilities:
Establishes and governs enterprise process architecture standards, including process taxonomy, decomposition methods, workflow design patterns, documentation expectations, and governance practices.
Defines common methods for decomposing business capabilities into processes, subprocesses, decisions, tasks, system interactions, agent responsibilities, escalation paths, and control points.
Creates and maintains process reference architecture, reusable process modules, workflow components, decision services, automation services, and agent-enabled business services.
Partners with enterprise delivery programs to apply consistent process architecture practices across initiatives and align process designs to enterprise standards.
Defines human-agent workflow patterns that clarify how work is performed across people, AI agents, automation platforms, and enterprise systems.
Defines standards for incorporating AI agents into business processes, including accountability, decision rights, workflow boundaries, permissions, auditability, orchestration, and agent-to-agent interaction.
Identifies opportunities to redesign business processes around AI and agent capabilities rather than simply automating existing workflows.
Recommends process modernization opportunities using BPM, process mining, task mining, workflow analytics, and process intelligence methods.
Establishes process performance baselines and measurable outcomes for AI-enabled transformation, including cycle time, manual effort reduction, control effectiveness, and business value realization.
Ensures AI-enabled processes maintain alignment with regulatory, privacy, security, audit, responsible AI, and operational risk requirements.
Advises leadership and enterprise delivery programs on operating model evolution as AI agents increasingly participate in business execution.
Coaches architects, product owners, delivery teams, and business partners on process architecture, process decomposition, agentic process design, and human-agent workflow patterns.
Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's or bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, systems analysis, operations management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
HS Diploma or GED from an Accredited Institution
Minimum of eight years of experience in process architecture, enterprise architecture, operating model design, business transformation, solution architecture, or related disciplines.
Deep expertise in process decomposition methodologies, BPMN, value stream mapping, process modeling, process governance, workflow design, and process lifecycle management.
Experience designing operating models that integrate human workers, automation technologies, enterprise systems, and AI-enabled capabilities.
Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide process transformation, modernization, or workflow standardization initiatives.
Working knowledge of AI-enabled workflow design, agentic process patterns, human-in-the-loop models, human-on-the-loop models, and responsible AI governance considerations.
Ability to partner with enterprise delivery programs to translate business capabilities and operating needs into process architectures, workflow patterns, and executable process designs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience defining human-agent interaction models, AI-enabled operating models, and workflow patterns that coordinate people, agents, automation, and systems.
Experience with process mining or process intelligence platforms such as Pega, Celonis, Signavio, SAP Process Intelligence, or similar technologies.
Familiarity with workflow orchestration platforms, case management platforms, rules engines, agentic workflow frameworks, and enterprise automation technologies.
Understanding of organizational design, operating model transformation, digital workforce strategies, and change impacts associated with AI-enabled process redesign.
Experience establishing enterprise process architecture practices, standards, reference models, governance routines, and reusable process design assets.
Exposure to governance and compliance disciplines, including privacy, security, audit, risk management, and responsible AI practices.
Understanding of product management, agile methodologies, and development practices; ability to guide delivery teams on architectural impacts, implementation risks, and technical debt.
Experience evaluating opportunities for agent-enabled process transformation, including task allocation, exception handling, escalation models, observability, and control design.
Experience designing process KPIs and evaluation frameworks to measure process performance, agent contribution, human-agent interaction quality, and business value realization.
Comprehensive understanding of health insurance business models, healthcare operations, financial modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and risk management.
Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, integrity, systems thinking, and a commitment to responsible AI and human-centered process design.
