Description and Requirements

The Director, DevOps drives the strategy, architecture, engineering and delivery execution for DevOps enablement across the Enterprise. The Director is the key enabler of platforms and technologies for automated software build and delivery (CI/CD). The DevOps team enables self-service capabilities while providing governance and guidance to IT Program Teams. The Director, DevOps plays an advisory role to senior leaders across IT, as both a subject matter technical expert and a trusted delivery leader / partner.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Evolve the DevOps strategy and partner with all levels of leadership on ways to improve our DevOps culture, practices, enablement, and delivery/execution.
  • Manage department specific/ assigned budgets in support of financial decisions, negotiating with vendors, identifying cost savings opportunities and the day-to-day expense management.
  • Build the DevOps engineering practice while collaborating across the IT organization, as a champion for automation and simplification.
  • In partnership with the Cloud Platform team, deliver against our journey to the Public Cloud, as we build best in class solutions for the Enterprise
  • Manage new DevOps tooling implementations and support; contribute to operational support during Major Incidents
  • Remove obstacles, think differently, and advance methods of work that enable DevOps with a BIAS towards action vs. conversation.
  • Develop and coach a team that includes a Product Owner, Architects, Senior Engineers and Engineers as a subject matter technology expert
  • This position will be based in our Lake Mary, FL office and is hybrid with some travel to NY

Minimum Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated experience with modern software orchestration, containerization, and deployment technologies
  • Previous experience leading and managing a team of skilled DevOps and application engineers
  • Has led DevOps initiatives at scale in an Agile environment
  • Prior experience building CI/CD pipelines as a DevOps engineer
  • Technical depth in the DevOps tool chain, containers, container platforms and next generation DevOps technologies
  • Strong Business Acumen and minimum of 10 years prior experience in IT, Computing, and/or Healthcare, Insurance related field
  • 5 years of experience directly managing employees and contractors

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA, BS in Computer Science, Business or Healthcare related field.
  • 10+ years in leadership roles
  • Expertise in AWS technologies
  • Containerization orchestration and management experience (Kubernetes, Docker, Anthos)
  • Experience working in Agile Release Management Tools
  • Experience integrating SaaS and PaaS technologies

Hiring Range*:

  • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $170,400 - $260,610

  • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $140,600 - $215,050

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
