Description and Requirements

The Project Manager, Medicare will manage small to large enterprise-level projects that have department or enterprise-level importance, moderate to high risk and risk interdependencies, several interrelationships, and moderate to high costs associated with delivery. They support projects of major complexity as part of a program team in support of higher-level project or program managers. The Project Manager, Medicare will work collaboratively with the Sales & Retention and Enterprise Delivery Services teams across multiple functional areas, to align resources and effort around the achievement of Healthfirst’s Medicare Strategic Growth Plan. Success will be driven by ensuring strategy and business needs are effectively communicated to delivery partners and ensuring that project execution, resource deployment and overall coordination efforts are completed on schedule and to budget, while building and maintaining strong relationships in sales and our matrix organization.   • Organizes and leads the project team through the entire project life cycle
  • Implements field visit strategy to ensure staff are appropriately trained and using resources effectively while also reinforcing sales and skills training delivered to them through different mediums
  • Leads the acceleration of tools and technology capabilities
  • Engages call center reps and delivers resources for advancing their customer centric capabilities
  • Creates and maintains a centralized knowledge library and ensure all materials are updated regularly
  • Onboards new staff with personalized role-based materials and resources
  • Design and Execute a Comprehensive Coaching Program for new hires
  • Supports the creation and delivery of new video and podcast like tools to offer different mediums to enhance learning and knowledge retention
  • Supports SRA development with an eye towards maximizing opportunities and increasing recertification and retention rates across the Medicare Portfolio of Products
  • Helps remediate learning gaps identified through compliance audits and quality assurance monitoring
  • Conducts project estimate sessions with project stakeholders to drive project estimates and challenges estimates where appropriate to ensure accurate effort estimates by functional areas
  • Creates and maintains a detailed project plan for all aspects of the project based on delivery methodology and project impacts to secure tasks and dates
  • Manages project execution, resource deployment and overall coordination efforts to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to budget
  • Creates and manages the artifacts required for governance approval for medium to large-scale projects
  • Establishes and actively manages all project and key stakeholder expectations and relationships
  • Manages deliverables from all functional teams ensuring they meet the defined timeline and quality based on project guidelines
  • Tailors the use of specific project management techniques to each assignment (e.g. emphasizing risk management, or change management)
  • Reports status to the Project Sponsor, and escalates changes, issues, risks for resolution as needed
  • Collaborates with resource managers to acquire the resources necessary to produce the project on time and within budget
  • Achieves project objectives in conformance with Healthfirst project management methodologies and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects that yielded meaningful results
  • Experience engaging and communicating with key stakeholders including senior-level leadership
  • Experience with project change management, portfolio risk management, project communication management and organization change management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment
  • Experience in managing or working on projects across multiple departments using an SDLC methodology and Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Experience in managing a team of people and/or in leading a team to achieve results
  • Knowledge and/or experience with multiple Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pair Programming, Automated Testing
  • Experience with application and/or systems implementations or upgrades
  • Experience using an enterprise project management system such as MS Project Server and MS Project
  • Industry work experience in healthcare such as hospital, managed or long-term care, insurance, government or other healthcare agency
  • Knowledgeable of Department of Health (DOH) and Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations

Hiring Range*:

  • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $100,900 - $145,775

  • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $86,500 - $128,690

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
