Description and Requirements
Position Summary:
The General Ledger intern in Healthfirst's Finance Department is primarily responsible for working with Staff Accountants to record and reconcile all revenue and expenses by correct dimensions for reporting and financial analyses.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Back up personnel to record monthly adjustments for revenue and expenses
Assist in reconciling the balance sheet ledger accounts related to revenue and expenses
Research and create manual adjustment reclasses to update/correct dimensions/characteristics of the financial data in balance sheet accounts
Review existing and create job aids for operations in the General Ledger function e.g. how to review an entry or how to perform an account reconciliation
Additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Undergraduate students must be a junior at an accredited institution; enrolled in accounting or finance program
Proficiency in Excel - i.e., pivot tables and v-lookups
Will not require sponsorship for employment
Eligible to work in the U.S.
Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA from an accredited school
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in using General Ledger Financial or Accounting software (Workday, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Great Plains, Peachtree)
Proficiency in analyzing big data
Experience in performing financial reconciliation of reported data to the company general ledger.
Understanding of Medicaid and Medicare programs.

Hiring Range*:
Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $40,200 - $54,570
All Other Locations (within approved locations): $34,900 - $52,000
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
